Description
The OTS-X 320×240 9Hz Thermal Monocular from ATN features a 30mm interchangeable lens, equipping this compact thermal imaging device for close to mid-range observation. By analyzing the heat signature of a visual scene, this device is capable of seeing through fog, dust, daylight, and darkness to reveal subjects of interest where the naked eye sees none. A video output port and waterproof housing enable this monocular to perform a wide range of recreational and tactical viewing tasks.
A 320×240 microbolometer sits at the core of the OTS-X imaging system. This heat sensor has 50mK sensitivity, capable of distinguishing subtle temperature differences and creating well-defined thermal images. An RCA video port allows the transmitted image to be outputted at full-resolution to video monitors and recording devices. The detector’s 9Hz refresh rate displays standard image speed that is adequate for for viewing action-packed events.
This configuration of the OTS-X comes with a 30mm lens that transmits a 11° angle of view. The OTS-X bayonet lens mount allows the operator to switch the standard focal length lens with either a 14mm, 50mm, or 70mm lens. Digital zoom can provide a closer look at the visual scene by magnifying the image 2x or 4x. For a better view of the displayed image, this electro-optic has image enhancement tools, including manual brightness adjustment and multiple polarity modes. The selectable polarity modes allow the operator to designate white-hot, black-hot, or even transpose the heat signature into a false-color image.
The built-in OLED color display, variable display geometry and comfortable 27mm eye relief complement the OTS-X monocular’s range of features, making this thermal optic ready for outdoor viewing and intelligence gathering tasks. Weighing less than 18 ounces, the OTS-X is lightweight enough for comfortable handheld operation; an integrated tripod mounting socket also outfits the monocular for long-duration observation.
